Job Description: East Coast Associate Position

February 28, 2008 - TBL Capital, a venture fund that invests in social entrepreneurs committed to building companies generating strong economic and social returns, is seeking an East Coast Associate with 2-3 years of investment banking, venture capital or private equity experience, and located or willing to locate in the New York Metropolitan area, preferably in close proximity to Connecticut. TBL provides growth capital in a range of targeted socially beneficial sectors: consumer products, service providers, software, clean technology, green building, health and wellness, and retail.

The Associate role includes:

1. Quantitative and qualitative evaluation (running complex financial models, performing financial and competitive due diligence and monitoring investments that the firm decides to pursue), which requires a keen understanding of finance and accounting. The candidate should have strong analytical and writing skills.

2. Identification, research, and pursuit of attractive investment opportunities, which requires daily interaction with CEOs and CFOs of private companies. The successful candidate will be articulate, proactive, have an outstanding work ethic and possess a high level of motivation, persistence and interpersonal skill.

Candidates should possess the requisite qualities for performing each of these three primary functions. The position can be configured as full time or part time depending on a candidate's circumstances, experience and skill set.
