Philadelphia, PA - May 11, 2009 - GoodCompany Ventures, a pioneering incubator in the social sector, is proud to partner with Wharton School of Business to offer strategic advisement to the incubator class of 2009. Wharton students will play an integral role in offering fresh business perspectives to the young entrepreneurs over the course of nine weeks, starting June 1, 2009.

In addition to launching the Wharton ambassador program, GoodCompany Ventures is pleased to announce its first three young businesses - BlackGold Biofuels, Math Foundations, LLC and Onion Flats. Led by dynamic entrepreneurs, these first three businesses represent the education, clean-technology and design industries.

BlackGold Biofuels (BGB) has developed groundbreaking, patent-pending technology to convert nuisance sewer greases into biodiesel, a low-carbon diesel fuel substitute that can be used in any diesel engine without modification. BGB handles the sale of the technology licenses, processes equipment, provides ancillary support services to water utilities, waste haulers, and energy developers and owns and operates processing units itself. BGB's technology simultaneously solves multiple major problems in the wastewater and biofuels industries, creating a lucrative renewable energy asset from a pollution liability. Math Foundations, LLC is an education company whose mission is to provide innovative math remediation solutions to two and four-year colleges and job training programs. The company was founded by Angela McIver, PhD in response to the lack of assessments, interventions and professional development to effectively remediate students who leave school with weak math foundations. With 1.3 million students enrolled in remedial courses each year, Math Foundations believes that innovative interventions can help keep these students in school and positively impact the quality of students entering the workforce.
