Day Pitney is a law firm that delivers the highest quality representation to businesses, financial institutions, government entities, and individuals throughout the United States and internationally. Our lawyers collaborate across a range of disciplines from offices in Boston, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington, DC. We value our ability to provide outstanding service to our clients and the community. Formed by the merger of two law firms of Day Berry Howard (Boston) and Pitney Hardin, the entity dates back more than 100 years. During a century of changing legal and economic conditions, the firm's commitment to integrity and community has not wavered. Its predecessor firm Pitney Hardin was one of the first law firms to create an environmental practice group, form a women's leadership program and adopt total quality management standards. Attorneys are actively involved with the Pro Bono partnership, and have won many awards for its community service. In 1992, it founded the Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project and have represented more than 1400 victims in obtaining restraining orders against abusers. We also worked with the Merritt Parkway Conservancy and National Trust for Historic Preservation to protect the historic features and character of the parkway. For the Human Rights Asylum, we volunteer to defend the interests of immigrants seeking political asylum and refugee status. Throughout the past century, our lawyers have served on numerous charitable and civic organizations seeking to advance a wide range of educational, cultural and humanitarian causes.
