Photovoltaics Summit 2009

Last year's 3rd annual Photovoltaics Summit grew by more than 35% since its previous year and has become well known in the industry for the high quality of the presentations and conference experience. This year's program will provide an updated, in-depth forum for new developments to be shared and is designed for those with a background in the technology as well as relative newcomers to the field.

Speakers from AltaTerra Research, Enphase Energy, EuPD Research, Global Market Consultants, GP Solar GmbH, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Harvard University, IntertechPira, KV Architects, Moser Baer, Navigant Consulting, NREL, Oerlikon Solar, PG&E, Recurrent Energy, Rofin-Sinar, Safeway, Signet Solar, Solaicx, SolFocus, Solaria, Spire Solar, Suniva, Sun Works LLC, Thornton Solar Consulting, Tioga Energy, United Solar Ovonic, University of Vermont and Whole Foods will present and address the opportunities and most critical challenges for the commercialization of PV technologies. Also featured in the program include two parallel tracks for a deeper understanding of materials and manufacturing and utility-scale solar initiatives; one panel discussion with corporate solar consumers; two half-day seminars and numerous networking functions.

Co-Chaired by Dr Jean Posbic, Director of Projects of BP Solar and Dr Tom Surek, PV Consultant and former PV Program Manager of NREL, Photovoltaics Summit 2009 is a key industry event, providing the opportunity to network with leading experts and gain the necessary knowledge in this growing field. Two pre-conference seminars, An Introduction to Photovoltaics Technology: Research, Development, Systems and Applications and PV Markets and Supply Chains: A Global Outlook will be held prior to the conference on Monday, June 1.

To expand upon the alternative energy market, the week will continue with Concentrating Solar Thermal Power 2009 set for June 4 - 5, 2009 at the Hotel Kabuki. Co-Chaired by Rainer Aringhoff, Solar Millennium and Fred Morse, Abengoa Solar, this two day conference and exhibition will address the current issues in the utility scale solar arena. Attendees will hear the latest updates and developments from leading power purchasers and project developers and receive insight into the latest public and private funding activities.
