The Global Compact's US Network will convene its first meeting of 2008 on the topic of "Business and Human Rights", in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The meeting is timed to coincide with the Ceres annual conference also being held in Boston. The "Business and Human Rights" meeting will delve into areas such as: understanding business risks regarding human rights; developing a human rights policy for your organization; and monitoring and reporting progress. Presenters will include managers of companies at the forefront of these issues, as well as thought-leaders at non-profit organizations, the United Nations and Harvard University. Attendees will also participate in an interactive case study discussion about business and human rights, facilitated by a Harvard Business School professor.
The conference will feature two distinguished keynote speakers: Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and current Chair of the Council of Women World Leaders, and Professor John Ruggie, Harvard University.
Please RSVP to Ms. Rhetta Holdorf (rmh2@case.edu) by no later than 2 April.
