Both 2009 programs – expanded this year from four days to five – will include:
Site visits, including diverse, industry-leading examples, and meetings with on-site experts. The programs will include outings to multiple destinations each day, with more than 75 percent of the time spent in the field.
Guest speakers, including experts from leading companies, policy leaders, sustainability experts, and leaders of successful sustainability projects.
Classroom time, used sparingly, covering new methods in sustainability, and enabling a dynamic exchange between the participants and leaders.
Workshops and projects, providing an opportunity for participants to work directly with program leaders and each other to grapple with today's real-world challenges.
Organizers limit both the sustainable agriculture and green building tracks to 20 professionals and 15 graduate students each to maximize value for participants.
The series runs from June 22 to June 26 and will feature speakers including Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski, Dennis Wilde of Gerding Edlen, Lisa Selder of New Seasons Market, and many other thought-leaders in their fields.
Site visits for the sustainable agriculture series include over 15 locations such as:
Zenger Farm – Demonstrating a model of urban agriculture

The green building and built environment series offers a packed agenda including:
