Do you need to gain skills and understanding that will help you secure executive sponsorship and peer participation for your citizenship program?

This two-day course offers tools and tactics for securing executive sponsors and peer partners to advance your corporate citizenship program. Cited in the BCCCC “Profile of the Professionals 2013” research report, corporate citizenship professionals need fluency in the language of business and the capability to translate goals in ways that resonate with executives and staff across the business. In a 2012 study by BCCCC of the importance of stakeholder groups to corporate citizenship professionals, the only group scoring higher than the Board & Executive Leadership was Customers. You have to speak fluently and comfortably with these stakeholders.

Whether you are working in philanthropy, sustainability, reporting or employee engagement this course will help you develop skills that can ensure your future success. The course will help you:

  1. Understand the world of your senior execs (the drivers of your industry, your firm’s strategy, what your company’s customers value and the difference between benefits and attributes as seen by those customers).
  2. Design your programs to be understood by your senior execs, with budgets, objectives and impact that they will approve (Design thinking, the lean startup).
  3. Sell your program to your leadership team. Craft your pitch to outpace your firms’ competitors, show how your program touches your firm’s customers and provides benefits and value to them, and see where your work fits into the company’s value chain.
