The World Legal Forum foundation and its partners are pleased to announce the launching conference of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conflict Management Center (CCMC), an international facility for non-judicial management of CSR-related company-community conflicts.

The establishment of the CCMC represents a strong step forward to implementing the "access to remedy" pillar of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Together with the Harvard Kennedy School of Government's CSR Initiative and the Hague Institute for Global Justice, we will host experts from all over the world to discuss in plenary sessions and workshops the current challenges and opportunities in CSR-related company-community conflicts.

Over the course of two days, panels and workshops will real the nature of company-community conflicts, processes involved in resolving these types of disputes, and the landscape of appropriate remedies. We are delighted and honoured to welcome NGOs, business representatives, and dispute resolution facilitators who will use their first-hand experience to give the audience insight into the processes of dispute resolution between companies and communities.

A distinctive feature of the conference will be the presentation of six recent case stories by the involved parties themselves. This will give the conference participants a valuable opportunity to exchange and appreciate multi-stakeholder viewpoints in CSR-related disputes.
