Celebrate the one year anniversary of The Colorado Ocean Coalition in honor of Teens4Oceans and The Sylvia Earle Alliance for a free Public Ocean Symposium at the Boulder Public Library.
Join Sylvia, Jim Toomey (cartoonist of Sherman's Lagoon), David Helvarg (author of 50 Ways to Save the Ocean), Dan Basta (Director of NOAA's National Marine Sanctuary Program), Plastic Pollution Coalition, 5 Gyres Institute, and Roz Savage holder of four world records for ocean rowing, including first woman to row three oceans: the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian.
Panels and presentations will examine marine protected areas, the environmental impact of plastics, sustainable seafood, and the relationship between agricultural and watersheds.
Then,join us for an evening fundraising extravaganza featuring special guests Dr. Sylvia Earle at the Rembrandt Yard, 1301 Spruce Street in Boulder.
During the event, the Sylvia Earle Collection Antarctic Hope Spot Scarf will be unveiled. The silk scarf features a stunning photographic work of an Adelie penguin on ancient Antarctic ice and was provided by Pew Marine Conservation Fellow John Weller. The limited edition scarf will be previewed at Making Waves in Colorado, an event organized by the Colorado Ocean Coalition in conjunction with the Sylvia Earle Alliance and Teens4Oceans.
