2007 Green Buildings Open House
The 2007 Green Buildings Open House offers a unique opportunity to see
first-hand how clean renewable energy and green building practices are
working for your neighbors. Homeowners and facilities managers will be
available to answer questions about their experiences, and offer practical
insights into the decisions, planning, and benefits of "going green."
The Green Buildings Open House demystifies healthy green buildings and
clean energy, proving that green buildings are comfortable, affordable,
and attractive, and that clean energy is here, it's real, and it's working
today.
The public is invited to learn how to reduce energy bills and have a
positive effect on some of our country's most pressing challenges by
reducing the need for foreign oil, climate change emissions, and
asthma-causing air pollution. Open House attendees will learn about clean
electricity, green building design principals, energy efficient appliances,
and green building materials and products for the home. At many Open House
sites attendees can also see how solar hot water is collected and stored,
how photovoltaics can be placed on or integrated into the shell of a
building to produce electricity, or how wind can be used to generate
power.
