Corporate Social Responsibility Event
5.24.2007 - 5.24.2007
Business/Corporate Social Responsibility (Getting a Program Started at Your Company)
Description:
Corporate Social Responsibility is a concept that corporations have an
obligation to consider the interests of customers, employees,
shareholders, communities and the environment in all aspects of their
operations. Advocates of this idea argue that these obligations extend
beyond an organization's statutory responsibility to comply with
legislation. CSR is closely linked with the principle of sustainable
development, which argues that organizations should make decisions based
not only on financial factors such as profits or dividends, but also based
on the immediate and long-term social and environmental consequences of
their activities.
