Outlook for Public-Private Global Development Initiatives
In March 2002, world leaders met in Monterrey, Mexico, for a summit on
poverty, sponsored by the United Nations, with a goal to eradicate
poverty, achieve sustained economic growth and promote sustainable
development as they worked to advance to a fully inclusive and equitable
global economic system.
BCLCÂ’s Forum: Expanding on the Monterrey Consensus will present
ways in which the private sector can work towards those goals by combining
strategies for social development with economic development.
This forum is for business leaders and their partners who are interested
in networking, sharing information, learning about new policies,
procedures, tools and techniques and advancing the Global Development
agenda.
The forum will discuss:

The implications of the Monterrey Consensus for business in emerging
markets
New tactics for supporting public-private partnerships in emerging
