New England Blacks in Philanthropy Presents Building Stronger Communities Conference
New England Blacks in Philanthropy (NEBIP) presents the conference "Black
Philanthropy - Building Stronger Communities" from June 22-24, 2008 at

The gathering will examine, encourage and promote Black Philanthropy as a
means of economic empowerment and civic engagement. Keynote speakers
include Beverly Daniel Tatum, President of Spelman College, Dr. James
Comer, Board of Directors, Nellie Mae Educational Foundation, Michelle
Courton-Brown, Senior Vice President of Charitable Management Services,
Bank of America. Also featured is Harry Lennix, a noted actor who has had
supporting roles in films such as the Matrix series, The Five
Heartbeats, Spike Lee's Get on the Bus and Ray.
The 25 workshops and lectures will focus on issues of education, health,
media image and leadership. The conference will bring together foundation
and corporate grant makers, philanthropists and trustees and is open to
all.
