Eco Advantage Salon Tour - Los Angeles

CSRwire

Join Andrew Winston, co-author of the critically acclaimed new book "Green to Gold" and learn how you can catch the wave…

A rising interest in the environment is sweeping the business world, and this time, it’s here for good. This new strategic focus on sustainability is being driven by a perfect storm of forces: rising energy costs, global concern about climate change, the world's biggest companies pressuring suppliers to go green, and new "stakeholders" like NGOs and activist shareholders asking very tough questions about how companies handle environmental and social issues.

What does it really mean to "go green" and how can you get on top of this new “green wave” and avoid getting swept under? Join Andrew Winston, the Green West Expo and local Los Angeles business lead-ers at a special Los Angeles "Eco-Advantage Salon," and learn how you can help your company navigate to success in today's increasingly environmentally sensitive business landscape.

At the Salon, Winston will lead an in-depth discussion on what is causing the “green wave” in business (the vernacular used in his book to describe business’s move toward sustainability), and how “Wave Rid-ers” (those businesses that are embracing the green wave) have harnessed this trend to create competi-tive advantage.

Local "wave-riders" who are already experiencing success with sustainability, will be on hand to discuss their own direct experiences in an interactive panel session. Following the panel discussion, Winston will lead a guided walk through of some of the tools and frameworks he suggests to help you identify where opportunities may lie for your company. The salon concludes with an invitation to visit the Green West tradeshow floor, conference, and closing cocktail reception. All of which are great opportunities to network with Mr. Winston, city officials and your peers, and to learn more about industry trends.

Winston is co-author of the recently released and widely acclaimed book "Green to Gold", in which he chronicles 3 years of research on how environmental innovators such as 3M, GE, Wal-Mart, Johnson and Johnson, and many others are establishing new value and competitive advantage through smart eco-strategy. He is a nationally recognized expert on green business, and has written for, or appeared in Time, Newsweek, The Washington Post, Forbes, ABC News, National Public Radio, and CNBC's Power Lunch. He has held management positions and advised a wide array of leading companies in strategy and marketing. He holds a degree in economics from Princeton, an MBA from Columbia and an MA in Environmental Management from Yale. He is editor of "Eco-Advantage Strategies", and founder of Wins-ton Eco-Strategies where he helps leading companies use environmental thinking to drive growth.
