Alcoa Foundation Contributes $50,000 for Disaster Relief in California Due to Wildfires
(CSRwire) NEW YORK - October 24, 2007 - Alcoa Foundation today announced that it has
contributed $50,000 to the Orange County, California Chapter of the
American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts following devastating
wildfires in Southern California.
The wildfires that began on Sunday have devastated over 200,000 acres of
land, destroyed thousands of homes, forced the evacuation of 750,000
residents, and have caused several injuries and fatalities.
Alcoa (NYSE:AA) employs 3,000 people in California at its Alcoa Fastening
Systems and Kawneer Company businesses. Alcoa has five operating locations
in the affected counties of Los Angeles, Venture and Orange.
