Are Corporations Designed to Meet the Challenges of the 21st Century?

(CSRwire) October 2, 2007 - Join other thought leaders on November 13-14, 2007, for dialogue and agenda-setting when the SUMMIT ON THE FUTURE OF THE CORPORATON (www.summit2020.org) convenes in historic Faneuil Hall in Boston to address one of the most critical questions of our time: Are corporations equipped for the 21st century?

Co-organized by Allen White, Co-Founder and former CEO, Global Reporting Initiative and Peter Senge, MIT, an extraordinary mix of opinion leaders from business, civil society, finance, labor, law and the media will participate in the Summit. The agenda follows a highly interactive, town hall and cafe-style format. Selected speakers and panelists include:

Jay Hooley, Vice Chairman, State Street Corporation.

Charles Handy, formerly Royal Dutch Shell and the London Business School; author of Age of Unreason and Gods of Management.

Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Harvard Business School

David Korten, author of The Great Turning and When Corporations Rule the World.

Robert Kuttner, columnist for Business Week; commentator, PBS; Editor, American Prospect

Darcy Winslow, Nike Foundation and former General Manager, Sustainable Business Strategies, Nike

Henry Mintzberg, global leader in organizational management and strategy; author, Rise and Fall of Strategic Management and Managers, Not MBAs

Robert Monks, pioneer in corporate governance; founder, Institutional Shareholder Services; author, The New Global Investors.

Damon Silvers, Associate General Counsel, AFL-CIO

Join these and other leaders for two days of discussion, debate and envisioning new corporate designs that integrate environmental, social and good governance at their very core.

The Summit is a major milestone in the four-year process of Corporation 20/20 (http://www.corporation2020.org), wherein nearly 200 stakeholders from various disciplines have came together to explore corporate designs for the 21st century. Share the powerful learnings of this group -- and join the launch of a national conversation on corporate design. A report on corporate design and 10 other cutting-edge thought pieces will be provided to all registrants.
