Bayer Honored Again as a Top Company for Working Mothers
Fifth Year on Working Mother Magazine's Top 100 List
(CSRwire) PITTSBURGH - September 25, 2007 - Bayer Corporation has been recognized by
Working Mother magazine as one of 100 best companies across the
nation for working mothers. This selection marks the fifth time Bayer has
appeared on the annual list.
"As better models of quality are established each year, being named to the
"Working Mother 100 Best Companies" list for the fifth time is truly an
honor," said Dr. Attila Molnar, President and CEO of Bayer Corporation.
"At Bayer, we continually strive to develop and expand WorkLife programs
that support working mothers. We are committed to creating a work
environment that allows all of our employees to balance the needs of their
careers with those of their families."
To apply for the "Working Mother 100 Best," Bayer provided
Working Mother magazine with detailed information on seven areas of
work/life including: workforce profile, childcare, company culture,
flexibility, parental leave policies, total compensation and
family-friendly programs. Bayer completed a 575-question application,
which checked the availability, usage and tracking of programs to support
working mothers and the accountability of managers to implement the
programs.
Bayer was recognized for its family-friendly programs, compensation and
company culture and ranked high or above average in more than half of the
categories surveyed.
Dr. Molnar identified job sharing, child care, telecommuting, flexible
schedules and a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program as some of the
work/life opportunities within Bayer that attract and retain employees to
the company.
The Working Mother recognition is one of several from national or
local organizations that Bayer has received, including the prestigious
Catalyst Award for leadership in establishing innovative programs to
prepare women and people of color with the critical skills necessary to
advance to senior positions.
The complete list of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" appears
in the October issue of Working Mother — available on newsstands
September 25, and currently available on the magazine's website, www.workingmother.com.
