New Speakers, New Big Brands, More Learning Opportunity
Few seats remain for Sustainable Brands '07, September 26-28, NOLA.
(CSRwire) BURLINGAME, CA - September 11, 2007- With a full two weeks to go before
Sustainable Brands '07, more industry leading speakers and big brands
continue to make plans daily to gather in New Orleans September 26-28 to
discuss emerging best practices associated with turning environmental and
social responsibility into a new driver of brand value. Few seats remain
for this landmark event. Those still interested in attending are
encouraged to book now by calling Sustainable Life Media at 650-344-9693,
or to register online at: www.regonline.com/sustainablebrands07.
Dozens of well-known corporate brands, including AMD, Pepsi, Clorox, Dell,
Kendall Jackson, HP, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Hannaford Foods, and Brown Forman
(Southern Comfort, Fetzer, etc.) as well as suppliers and innovators like
Standard Textile, Aqua2go, and Barista on Demand, and PR/Brand/Creative
agencies and media companies like Clear Channel, Fortune, and Wired
Magazine have recently signed on to join the already impressive attendee
list. Amazingly, conference hosts continue to bring on additional
high-profile speakers to share their knowledge as well.
"We simply can't turn away the caliber of people who have approached us at
the 11th hour with an interest in sharing their learning with this
gathering community," said Sustainable Life Media President and CEO KoAnn
Vikoren Skrzyniarz.
David Refkin, Director of Sustainable Development, Time, Inc., and Steve
Bradfield, VP, Environmental Affairs, Shaw Carpet, are just two of the new
industry leaders who have signed on to the faculty late in the game. "From
what we can tell, 90% of the conference faculty plans to attend the full
conference. Some will even join in the post conference tour or Habitat
for Humanity Volunteer project" notes Skrzyniarz.
"With so much knowledge to tap, we're working overtime to design
opportunities for dialogue and learning between participants that extend
beyond conference sessions," she said. Many speakers will lead table
topic discussions during hosted conference lunches, and "Birds of Feather"
dinner groups are being coordinated to support continued networking in to
the evening.
In addition to new panelists, two tremendous, all new sustainable design
presentations have also been added at the last minute. In one, user
interface/sustainability expert Terry Swack, founder of The Beam, and
cleanculture.com, talks about how to develop life-cycle thinking for your
brands, and points to examples of who's doing it well. In another two-part
break out titled: "Desirability and Sustainability: the Opportunity for
Brand and Design," design experts at IDEO share what they have learned so
far about the intersection of sustainability, brand and design.
