Marriott's Expanding Social Responsibility Program Wins Conde Nast Traveler's Prestigious 'World Savers' Award
(CSRwire) WASHINGTON - September 4, 2007 - Marriott International (NYSE: MAR)
received the prestigious "World Savers" award from Condé Nast Traveler
magazine for its outstanding Community Engagement and Social
Responsibility program. Marriott was selected as the leading "chain hotel
& resort" company, with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., receiving
an honorable mention in the distinguished second place position.
The award was based on a comprehensive evaluation of the company's
community service initiatives, with a focus on the areas of education,
health, poverty relief, cultural and environmental preservation, and
