Top Business Journalist Dennis Schaal Joins CRO Magazine & TheCRO.com as Editor-In-Chief—Will Address CRO Conference September 12 in Chicago
Most-respected B2B journalist teams with leading media organization covering the fast-growing $32 billion Corporate Responsibility industry
(CSRwire) - CRO Conference reports a capacity crowd September 12 at Chicago's
Union League Club -- press registrations limited
NEW YORK, NY - August 30, 2007 - Continuing its engagement with C-suite
and board-level business leaders, The CRO, producers of CRO (Corporate
Responsibility Officer) Magazine, TheCRO.com and the CRO Conferences today
announced that Dennis Schaal, one of the nation's most-respected business
journalists, will now lead the company's print and online editorial team
as Editor-In-Chief of CRO Magazine and TheCRO.com. Dennis, an
enthusiastic follower of the Corporate Responsibility trend, will provide
opening remarks at the CRO Conference on September 12 in Chicago.
Dennis Schaal comes to The CRO from Travel Weekly, where he served as the
Technology and Business Travel Editor. Prior to Travel Weekly, Schaal
served for several years as an Editor with the Newark (N.J.) Star-Ledger.
He holds a degree in journalism from Boston University.
"Dennis Schaal's most impressive attribute as an editor is the level of
engagement he has with the businesses he covers," says CRO Magazine
Publisher and CEO Jay Whitehead. "Dennis' rare ability to reach into the
C-suite will help CRO engage with CEOs to assess that all-important 'tone
at the top'."
Coincident with the announcement of Schaal's arrival, CRO Conference
producers today reported a surge of registrations from leaders at Duke
Energy, Sara Lee, Amtrak, Bank of America, Cisco, DuPont, Gap, Google,
Hershey, GE, McDonalds, Dow Chemical, Intel, Motorola, PG&E, Washington
Mutual, Dell and Starbucks among others. As a result, CRO Conference
organizers are expecting a second-consecutive capacity crowd, following
the successful sold-out NYC CRO Conference held in May last. As a result
of the strong turnout, press registrations have been limited to 25. Press
pass inquiries can be emailed to Jonathan Campbell at JCampbell@TheCRO.com.
In its second year, but in its first time in Chicago, the CRO Conference
features headline-grabbing keynotes from Fortune 500 leaders including
Pitney Bowes CEO Murray Martin and Interface Americas CEO John Wells. The
entire CRO Conference program can be found online at www.thecro.com/conferences.
