Green Bloggers, Including "The Green Wombat" and "Marketing Green" Join Sustainable Brands '07 Line Up to Moderate Industry Dialogue
Nearly three dozen speakers have now been confirmed
(CSRwire) BURLINGAME, CA - August 21, 2007 - Sustainable Brands '07 is rapidly
becoming a "who's who" of the leading corporate brand executives,
sustainable brand researchers, top PR, brand and creative agency execs and
press who are actively covering sustainability.
Nearly three dozen speakers have now been confirmed to share their brand
knowledge in New Orleans, September 26-28, as corporate brand builders
gather to support the rebuilding of New Orleans, honor the reality of
corporate contribution to climate change and discuss emerging best
practices surrounding sustainability as the path to new sales and
increased brand equity.
In addition to the stellar line up of corporate presentations on tap,
including Suzanne Dawson, VP Global Brands & Marketing, Aveda, and
Rand Waddoups, Sr. Corporate Director of Sustainability, Wal-Mart,
to name just two, leading green industry pundits are slated to lend their
perspective and moderate panel discussions on timely sustainable brand
building issues.
Among this group is Todd Woody, Business 2.0's "Green Wombat" who
will lead a discussion about the growing brand mandate for carbon
footprint transparency. Susan Space, Director of Brand and Advertising
for Sun and other panelists will discuss what they are currently doing
internally to track and mitigate their carbon impact, as well as talk
about where the bar is likely to be set for all companies down the road.
By developing a proactive carbon footprint story now, companies can create
brand leadership rather than being forced to play catch up in the near
future.
Another respected member of the green marketing blogosphere, David
Wigder, VP/Director at Digitas, the blogger behind http://www.marketinggreen.wordpress.com
and his panel of experts, will share up to the minute best practices
surrounding building green or cause-related brands in a web 2.0 world.
The session will provide tangible strategies for managing a brand online
and turning the Internet into an opportunity for positive customer
conversation.
Sustainable Brands '07 will be held at the newly reopened, and already
award winning, Ritz Carlton Hotel at the edge of the French Quarter in New
Orleans, on Thursday and Friday, September 27-28th. Additional hands-on
pre-conference workshops run Wednesday the 26th, with optional activities
extending through the weekend, including guided tours of the still
devastated 9th ward, and hands-on rebuilding efforts in collaboration with
Habitat for Humanity.
Despite continued struggles with rebuilding of surrounding neighborhoods,
New Orleans remains a world-class destination, with restaurants and
shopping in the French Quarter and downtown now fully open and
operational. While ready to welcome travelers with 1st class
accommodations and a one-of-a kind cultural experience, the city still
represents the greatest travel value in the US. Prices are on their way
up again, though, so travelers should come now while prices are low.
