USA Cares Tops Six Million Dollars to Aid Military Families
(CSRwire) RADCLIFF, KY - August 21, 2007 - USA Cares, (CFC#12359) a not-for-profit
charitable organization supporting military service members and their
families, has reached the 6 million dollar mark in donations and pledges.
This news is well received by the charity as it begins its fifth year, and
embarks on its first opportunity to be presented in the Combined Federal Campaign for 2007.
"A strong reputation as the 'go to organization' for military assistance
has allowed for tremendous growth of USA Cares over the past four years,"
said Barbra Yaw Dawson, Director of Communications from USA Cares. "The
trust placed in our policies and programs is reflected in the continued
generosity of not only foundation funds, but of corporate and individual
giving as well," continued Dawson.
USA Cares has received requests from over 6900 military service members of
all branches, supporting more than 20,000 family members. With a mission to
assist in times of great need and crisis, USA Cares moves into the 2007
Campaign confident that its ability to take these cases head on, and help
in difficult and complex situations facing our military, will be a
resounding message to the service members...USA Cares helps you, helps
your neighbors, helps your military community.
USA Cares consistently performs at exemplary levels with overhead under 10
% of their total assets. In a recent external audit performed by the firm
of Dean, Dorton,
and Ford of Lexington, Kentucky, noted in their findings during an
industry comparison, USA Cares out performs other similar organizations in
its low expenditures of donations received for fundraising (3.9%). This
permits USA Cares to dedicate the significant majority of funds to its
clients.
CFC Charities are organizations with tax-exempt status that provide health
and human services and that are determined to be eligible for participation
in the CFC. USA Cares, with its ability and history of being able to reach
across the Nation, will be defined in its own national category, and
unaffiliated with other charities.
