DOW to Sponsor the Conference Board's Global Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability Seminars
(CSRwire) MIDLAND, MI — July 2, 2007 — The Dow Chemical Company announced Monday
its sponsorship of The Conference Board's four upcoming Global Corporate
Citizenship and Sustainability Seminars.
The seminars will begin with events on October 10 and 11 in Chicago and
October 23 and 24 in New York City. These events, featuring speakers from
a variety of industries, will explore the extraordinary changes companies
are making to transform the way they approach business – at home and
around the world.
David Graham, Dow's vice president of environmental health and safety, and
Patti Temple-Rocks, Dow's vice president of global communications and
reputation, will present, "Building a Sustainable Brand for the 21st
Century" at the Chicago and New York events respectfully. Within their
presentations, they will discuss the role that corporate social
responsibility and sustainability have played in helping to build Dow's
reputation as a leader among stakeholders.
In addition, Mike Witt, Dow's program director for energy and climate
change, and Scott Noesen, Dow's global director of sustainable
development, will be participating in a panel discussion entitled "Climate
Change – Taking Action" at the Chicago and New York events respectfully.
"We are very pleased to sponsor these four Conference Board seminars,
tackling a subject that is of enormous importance to our Company," said
Graham.
"With the successful completion of our 2005 Goals, Dow has established
itself as a leader in delivering real results against environmental
commitments.
"And we continue to set the pace, driving forward with our 2015
Sustainability Goals, focused on further reducing Dow's global footprint
and helping to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges."
Robert M. Falcey, senior vice president of conferences for The Conference
Board, said, "The Conference Board values the role of Dow in sponsoring
these important conferences and seminars in citizenship and sustainability
– areas of rapidly advancing significance to our member organizations and
corporate leaders around the world."
In addition to presenting at the seminars in October, Dow will also
participate in the final two conferences of this series, which will be
held in 2008. For more information on these seminars, please visit http://www.conference-board.org
