senior leaders of business, government, non-governmental organizations,
multi-lateral institutions, academia and the media. WEC is an independent,
global non-profit, non-advocacy organization whose mission is to implement
sustainable development practices with business and stakeholder
partners.
Through the Forum, WEC will organize quarterly dialogues with Chief
Executive Officers, Cabinet-level officials from various governments and
leaders of global stakeholder organizations on:
Integrating sustainable development into the business strategies of
global corporations.
Presenting major national or global policy initiatives.
Reviewing the emergence of new issues, trends and partnerships that
will advance sustainable development and its impact on public policy,
business products, investment portfolios and markets.
Identifying stakeholder objectives and expectations for government
and the private sector.
"The accelerating momentum of the sustainable development conversation
creates a unique opportunity to unite the members of the global community
located in Washington," stated WEC President & CEO Terry F. Yosie. "With
its diverse membership, worldwide initiatives and network of senior
relationships, the World Environment Center is ideally positioned to
provide a neutral, interactive platform to advance the common interests of
diverse stakeholders."
