Farmers Insurance Raises More Than $2.6 Million in One Day for the March of Dimes
(CSRwire) LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 2007--In the largest single-day
fundraiser in March of Dimes, history, Farmers' Insurance Agents and
employees nationwide raised more than $2.6 million in one day, June 7,
2007.
Called "Be a Hero for Babies Day," this is the second year Farmers
Insurance called on everyday people to become a "hero" for healthy
babies.
"This is one of the proudest days for me personally and for this
entire organization," said Paul Hopkins, Chief Executive Officer, Farmers
Insurance Group. "Our goal was to raise $2 million in one day, and we far
exceeded it raising more than $2.6 million."
The $2.6 million is in addition to the $1.8 million raised by Farmers'
team members during WalkAmerica, bringing Farmers total donation this year
to over $4 million.
Hopkins added, "This is thanks to our hard-working Farmers agents and
employees across the country who share my dedication in giving back to the
communities where we live and work."
"The March of Dimes wants to thank Farmers agents and employees for
making Be a Hero for Babies Day an incredible success demonstrating
farmers' spirit of giving back," said Dr. Jennifer Howse, president of the
March of Dimes. "Farmers agents and supporters are the true heroes for more
than a half million babies born too soon, and we are proud of their
tremendous efforts to give all babies a healthy start in life."
