Dell Services Help Simplify IT for Safety Kleen
Dell to Manage Technical Support, Provide Products for Leader in Environmental Services
(CSRwire) ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 2007--Safety Kleen is
simplifying its IT operations with the assistance of Dell's Help Desk
services. Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) will manage end-user technical support,
helping to enable Safety Kleen's IT team to focus on supporting its
growing business.
Safety Kleen is the leading provider of cleaning, environmental and
re-refining solutions and the world's largest re-refiner of used oil. Dell
will serve as Safety Kleen's in-house help desk, providing technical
assistance to more than 4,500 employees who manage sales and service in
the field and customer support and operations across more than 200
locations.
"By outsourcing our help desk services to Dell, our IT team can focus
on strategic business and the future of our technology needs," said Magnus
Borg, Safety Kleen's chief information officer. "And by partnering with
Dell, we'll increase efficiency while raising the service level of our
help desk for all Safety Kleen employees.
The Dell team worked with Safety Kleen to develop a customized help
desk service, including a dedicated team of Dell support staff that will
manage and help solve any issues employees have with their desktop or
notebook computers.
This is the latest agreement in a growing relationship between Dell
and Safety Kleen. The company also uses Dell Latitude(TM) D620 notebook
computers, Dell OptiPlex(TM) GX620 desktop computers, Dell PowerEdge(TM)
servers and Dell/EMC storage to manage its business of cleaning and
environmental services to 440 companies on the Fortune 500 list. Dell also
managed the migration of Safety Kleen's e-mail servers from an outsourcer
to in-house management. Additionally, Dell Services handles Safety Kleen's
asset management and asset recovery.
"Dell's expertise working with Safety Kleen's growing business and
progressive IT strategy make a great combination," said Bill Rodrigues,
vice president of Dell's Corporate Business Group. "We are committed to
enabling Safety Kleen and all our customers to achieve their business
goals by removing cost and complexity from IT."
