Accenture Named to DiversityInc's "Top 50 Companies" List
(CSRwire) NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2007--Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been
named to DiversityInc's "Top 50 Companies" list in recognition of the
company's significant dedication to diversity. The magazine, which focuses
on the business benefits of diversity, identifies companies annually for
best practices and achievements in diversity.
"This distinction is a wonderful tribute to Accenture. We have people
from a wide range of cultural, educational and geographical backgrounds -
and every one of them brings something valuable and unique to work each
day," said Andre Hughes, Accenture's managing director of Human Capital
and Diversity in the United States. "Our corporate success is fueled by
personal and team success."
The "Top 50 Companies" recognition acknowledges Accenture's dedication
to creating an inclusive work environment that is rich in diversity,
celebrates each individual's uniqueness, and promotes respect, personal
achievement and stewardship. The accomplishment is particularly notable
because competition was especially fierce this year, with 317
participants, up 100 percent over the last three years and up 24 percent
from last year.
The DiversityInc rankings are derived exclusively from a statistical
analysis of responses to a 230-question survey, which is divided into four
areas: CEO Commitment, Human Capital, Corporate Communications and Supplier
Diversity. Although CEO Commitment is the most heavily weighted section, a
company must score well in all four areas. Companies also are evaluated
within their own industries and employee skill sets. This year, questions
were added on CEO Commitment, work/life, mentoring, programs related to
Native Americans, people with disabilities and
gay/lesbian/bi-sexual/transsexual people.
Accenture has been named as one of DiversityInc's "25 Noteworthy
Companies" for the past two years. This is, however, Accenture's first
appearance on the magazine's prestigious list of top 50 companies.
"Accenture is passionately committed to cultivating a diverse
workforce both because it's the right thing to do, and it's a key element
of achieving high performance," said Armelle Carminati-Rabasse,
Accenture's managing director of Human Capital and Diversity globally.
"Our company comprises people from a wide range of cultural, educational
and geographic backgrounds-people who are able to challenge conventional
thought, offer unique perspectives and generate innovative ideas. Our rich
diversity is part of what makes our company strong."
Accenture focuses on career progression and personal success for all
its people. Some of the diversity initiatives at Accenture include
multiple scholarship programs (https://careers3.accenture.com/Careers/US/DiversityInclusion/
Scholarships), diversity training

programs(https://careers3.accenture.com/Careers/US/DiversityInclusion/
Mentoring) and domestic partner benefits. The company also has
long-standing, established relationships and alliances (https://careers3.accenture.com/Careers/US/DiversityInclusion/
Alliances) with national minority and women professional
organizations. All of these programs and initiatives are part of
Accenture's effort to create a workplace that is both inclusionary and
