ReportAlert.info - Export Development Canada Publishes Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2006
(CSRwire) May 24, 2007- Export Development Canada (EDC), Canada’s export credit
agency, has published its 3rd Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Report.
The report highlights EDC’s progress at consolidating a number of CSR
initiatives introduced previously, particularly in the areas of
environmental review and transparency. These are increasingly important
areas given the growth of EDC’s business in emerging markets.
The strength of the 2006 report is its use of project profiles which help
to illustrate how EDC’s environmental review procedures are applied in
practice. Project profiles include a copper mine in Africa, airport
construction in Cyprus and equity financing for a wind energy project.
Founded in 1944, EDC offers innovative commercial solutions to help
Canadian exporters and investors expand their international business.
EDC’s knowledge and partnerships are used by 7,000 Canadian companies
and their global customers in up to 200 markets worldwide each year. EDC
is financially self-sustaining, is a recognized leader in financial
reporting, economic analysis and has been named one of Canada’s Top 100
Employers for six consecutive years. EDC is committed to conducting its
business in a socially responsible manner.
