Ethisphere Council to Offer Training on Starting CSR Programs
From Large - to Small-Sized Companies, All will Benefit
(CSRwire) PHOENIX, AZ - May 21, 2007 – Ethisphere Council, a group dedicated to the
research, creation, and sharing of best practices in ethics, compliance,
and corporate governance, will be hosting an interactive online training
seminar on starting a Business/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
program within a company.
The training seminar will take place on Thursday, May 24 at 10 a.m. PST/1
pm EDT and will be facilitated by Liz Reichert, Vice President of
Government Relations for BP and Krista Hendry of Fund for Peace's Business
Roundtable.
Corporate Social Responsibility is an obligation to consider the interests
of customers, employees, shareholders, communities and the environment in
all aspects of a company's operations. The Ethisphere Council advocates
that ethical business practices are important for companies of any size to
drive continued success within the company and the communities in which
they operate.
In addition to explaining the "nuts and bolts" of a CSR program, The
Ethisphere Council's tutorial will define the benefits and drawbacks of
CSR. Other topics in the interactive discussion will include making the
business case of a CSR program, and auditing and reporting the results of
a CSR program, including to ethical investors who are looking to measure
the company's CSR.
The cost of the online seminar is free for Ethisphere Council Members and
$475 for non-members. Participants in the event will receive valuable
downloads as well as an individual one-hour consultation with an
Ethisphere Council consultant. The individual consultations will be
scheduled after the online training. To register for the training
