BSR's Aron Cramer Discusses "The Board and CSR" at UCLA's Director Training & Certification Program

May 16, 2007, 12:00 p.m.

(CSRwire) SAN FRANCISCO, MAY 15, 2007 – Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) President and CEO Aron Cramer will speak about "The Board and Corporate Social Responsibility" (CSR) at the UCLA Anderson School of Management’s Director Training and Certification Program luncheon on Wednesday, May 16, 2006, at noon.

"As CSR moves into the mainstream, environmental, social and governance considerations are increasingly viewed as being critical to companies’ medium and short-term success," said Cramer. "BSR sees more companies looking to understand the broader questions that affect their commercial success and their relations with the wider world. As part of that, corporate boards are now shaping and reviewing companies’ efforts in this area."

Cramer will provide examples of companies that have embedded CSR into their core activities by establishing board committees and lead directors on CSR, and what the future is likely to bring as the changing intersection of business and society influences corporate strategy.

The luncheon will be held in the Collins Center for Executive Education at UCLA and is free for participants of the Director Training and Certification Program and other invited guests. A question and answer session will follow Cramer’s address.
