Innovest releases new ratings for Multiline retail sector

(CSRwire) NEW YORK, NY – April 3, 2007 - Innovest Strategic Value Advisors has released updated Intangible Value Assessments for the 40 companies in the multiline retail sector.

The most prominent change in ratings for the Multiline retail sector is that of Wal-Mart. Liz Lipton, lead analyst for the sector says, "The company's improved rating is attributed to its environmental commitment and the incorporation of environmental issues into its sustainability strategy. However, its labor and stakeholder relations continue to keep the company’s score below investment grade."

Peter Wilkes, Managing Director at Innovest stated, "Innovest's ratings are an indicator of a company's performance on intangible value drivers and management quality. This information is used to support an investor’s existing financial knowledge of a company. It is widely accepted among investors that extra-financial information is now required to get a full understanding of a company's prospects."

By assessing differentials typically not identified by traditional securities analysis, Innovest's IVA ratings uncover hidden risks and value potential for investors. Ratings range from AAA (best) to CCC (worst). Scores on sub factors range from 10 (best) to 0 (worst).

A research and ratings report for each company in the Multiline retail sector is available for purchase for USD $195. Companies in the sector include:
