(CSRwire) RADCLIFF KY.- March 14, 2007- USA Cares, worldwide charitable organization focused on assisting military families and service members, reached the $2.5 million dollar mark the first quarter of 2007 in found resources and support in the form of grants, for military families.

"The USA Cares process is to qualify a military family or service member for our program and assistance, in addition, we resource their local community for support that USA Cares may not be able to provide," says Pat Stradley, Director of Family Services, USA Cares. She continued,"Not only does this allow USA Cares to expand on the assistance to the military, it continues to prove that there is a great amount of support for the troops."

Monies for support reach the families from two distinct categories. Dollars generated directly from USA Cares as an organization, but, just as important, dollars generated by charities or businesses in the clients local area that join with USA Cares to help resolve the issues pressing the family or service member at the time. Relationships with several organizations have been built starting with one phone call from a USA Cares Resource Coordinator asking for additional assistance.

"People are out there that want to help, and we connect with them everyday," comments Cecelia, a USA Cares Senior Resource Coordinator. "From a local small charity that can supply a food basket, to a contractor who donates his labor costs to assist a family in need, it can be a challenge for smaller charities to advertise their ability to assist, so we hunt for them. We are proud to be able to connect military families or service members with assistance close to home," Cecelia adds.
