USA Cares creates awareness with new regional level representative
(CSRwire) RADCLIFF, KY - March 6, 2007 - USA Cares Executive Director Hugh Dukes
announced today that the first USA Cares Regional Representative position
has been created serving the ten states in the northeast region of the
United States.
Dukes said, "Positioning a representative at the local level expands USA
Cares’ outreach and helps the organization develop additional resources.
This is a huge step for the organization as we enter our fourth year of
operations and work to become the first call for military families."
The northeast region includes Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut,
Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Jersey, Delaware, Massachusetts and Rhode
Island. Dukes selected Amy Jayne McCabe, who resides in Massachusetts and
is a long time USA Cares Volunteer to serve as the regional
representative. No stranger to military life, Amy Jayne has traveled the
nation and the globe as an Army wife, an entertainer to the troops, and
as a USA Cares spokesperson.
"Joining this amazing organization as a full time staff member is a real
honor. There isn’t anything I’d rather be doing than supporting our
great Nation’s Military and their families" McCabe remarked.
McCabe has already made significant progress in introducing USA Cares to
National Guard and Reserve family readiness groups and their leaders. To
date, USA Cares has responded to 271 military families in the region with
more than $200,000 of support.
McCabe attended a conference in Buffalo, NY in February, another in
Indianapolis, IN. in March, and will travel to Gettysburg, PA. in April to
participate in a National Guard Family Program Workshops. You can write to
McCabe at ajmccabe@usacares.us or call 1-800-773-0387 for more
information. As always, applications for assistance are accepted 24 hours
a day at www.usacares.us.
