Job Description - Engaging Stakeholders Program Associate
(CSRwire) February 28, 2007- SustainAbility is currently seeking a qualified
individual to join its Washington, DC office as an Engaging Stakeholders
Program Associate for a 6 month period between May and November 2007. The
Associate will support SustainAbility's Engaging Stakeholders Program, a
unique membership forum of over 30 leading multinational companies,
developing and driving best practice in sustainability reporting and
stakeholder engagement.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have completed their first year in a
graduate program: MBA, international development, environmental studies,
policy, economics, business, or other relevant field. Preference will be
given to applicants who:
Have a solid understanding of the sustainable development agenda,
including internship or other experience related to corporate
responsibility or sustainable development
Possess strong research, analysis and writing skills
Are proven self-starters, able to follow-through with minimal
supervision, and demonstrated experience in managing projects and meeting
deadlines
Have demonstrated that they are good team members
Are prepared to work in Washington, DC
Job Description
Primary responsibilities include:
Conducting research in the areas of best practice reporting and
writing associated issue briefs on key reporting issues
Benchmarking Corporate Responsibility Reports using
SustainAbility’s proprietary methodology
Creating client deliverables, including reports and Power Point
decks
Undertaking research and analysis for Learn from the Leaders, an
online resource for best practice in sustainability reporting (http://reporting.sustainability.com)
Assisting with the Engaging Stakeholders Fall Workshop, dedicated to
encouraging peer debate around best practice in reporting and stakeholder
engagement (held in both the US and Europe each year)
Participating in project team meetings and, on occasion, in client
meetings
Helping to ensure quality and timeliness of project deliverables
(e.g. reports, presentations)
Disseminating learning from the ES Program to Members, Core Team and
Network
The Associate will also join other SustainAbility core team members
working on ongoing tasks such as: supporting client/research projects,
writing articles for SustainAbility's publications, and helping with
general office administration.
Other Information
This is a 6 month position (between May and November) based in Washington,
DC. Compensation will be in the range between NGO and corporate pay. It
includes all company holidays during this period as well as the
opportunity to take 1 week of vacation leave.
