The UPS Store Calling on Kids to 'Design Dale's New Ride'
Coloring Contest Kicks Off 60th Annual Toys For Tots Campaign
(CSRwire) SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 2007--The UPS Store(R) is kicking off
its third annual Toys for Tots campaign and celebrating NASCAR legend Dale
Jarrett's new racing team and car with the "Design Dale's New Ride"
coloring contest.
The contest, which runs through March 31, gives kids a chance to
design this year's The UPS Store/Toys for Tots #44 Camry, which Jarrett
will race Oct. 28 in Atlanta.
"I am proud to be part of the Toys for Tots program," said Jarrett.
"In addition to giving kids the chance to design a special The UPS
Store/Toys for Tots car, this contest is a great way for parents and
teachers to teach children about the importance of charitable giving."
Now through March 31, children may pick up a copy of the coloring
contest template at participating The UPS Store locations or by logging on
to www.theupsstore.com. Then from April
30 to May 18, the public will have its chance to vote for its favorite
design online at www.theupsstore.com. The public vote
will determine this year's winner.
As a national Toys for Tots sponsor since 2005, The UPS Store and Mail
Boxes Etc. network has raised more than $1 million for the Marine Toys for
Tots Foundation. These monies helped the organization deliver more than
37.6 million toys, books and other gifts to nearly 15.1 million
children.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to raise awareness of the Toys
for Tots program all year long and especially to help them celebrate their
60th anniversary," said Stuart Mathis, president of franchisor Mail Boxes
Etc., Inc. "Somewhere out there is a budding young artist who will
experience the thrill of seeing his or her design on a race car speeding
around the track at over 150 miles per hour."
The child who submits the winning entry will receive: a trip for three
to watch his or her design race around the track on Oct. 28 at Atlanta
Motor Speedway; a custom-fit, autographed racing suit to match the one
Dale will wear, and a Crayola(R) prize pack including Color Explosion(TM)
White, school tools from its new TOTAL TOOLS(TM) and Silly Scents(TM)
crayons, markers and colored pencils. Additionally, the winner's school
will receive free copying services for up to 10,000 pages from The UPS
Store, along with a Crayola art supplies package for the art
department.
