MicroEdge Provides Easy, Accelerated Data Access for the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy's Annual Giving Survey
High-profile Corporate Philanthropy Survey Now Quickly Integrates with MicroEdge GIFTS(R) Financial Data, Improving Corporate Philanthropy Measurement
(CSRwire) NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2007 -- MicroEdge, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Advent Software (NASDAQ: ADVS) and leading provider of
solutions for the grant-making community worldwide, today announced the
availability of GIFTS(R) CGS Plus, a software module that will make
participating in the prestigious Corporate Giving Standard (CGS) survey
from the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) much faster
and easier.
GIFTS(R) CGS Plus is a .NET Extension module that allows survey
participants to easily query required data stored in GIFTS(R) files and
match it to key data points in the CECP master survey document. According
to Margaret Coady, CGS Program Manager for CECP, "The Corporate Giving
Standard is an online data collection, reporting, and benchmarking system
designed specifically for corporate philanthropy measurement which allows
users to run benchmarking reports on demand. By integrating with
MicroEdge, CECP aims to dramatically reduce the time required to complete
the survey."
In making the announcement, MicroEdge President Jim Weil said, "For more
than 20 years we've provided leadership in the giving community by
delivering precisely this kind of solution - one that is focused on the
critical aspects of the measurement and outcomes of philanthropy.
Corporate entities are highly introspective about results in both their
business dealings and their philanthropic endeavors. The majority of
Fortune 100 companies use MicroEdge GIFTS(R) as their grant-making
software of choice, so having this new GIFTS(R) CGS Plus will provide an
enormous advantage when completing the survey."
Since 2001, CECP has collected and reported on more than $26 billion worth
of giving data. Over 100 companies, including 40 of the Fortune 100,
participated in last year's CGS survey. Together their contributions
amounted to over $10.5 billion in cash and product giving in 2005 and CECP
plans to release a public report, Giving in Numbers, at the end of this
month which will provide trends and key findings from the survey
respondents. The list of corporations responding to the CGS survey
continues to grow, with companies of all revenue sizes answering the
survey.
