Denver Mattress Company Donates over $146,000 to The Salvation Army for Operation: Rest Assured
(CSRwire) DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2007--Denver Mattress Company donated over
$146,000 to the Colorado Chapter of The Salvation Army through their 7th
Annual Operation: Rest Assured Charity campaign.
Denver Mattress raised the fund through an in-store campaign. The
logistics of the campaign consists of $20 being allocated for each
mattress sold from the end of November through December 31, 2006 to The
Salvation Army.
In addition, Denver Mattress underwrote a comprehensive direct
donation fundraising awareness campaign. This included both newspaper and
television advertising to solicit donations and raise awareness for The
Salvation Army.
The donation comes as a welcome relief this year to The Salvation
Army. The Salvation Army is coping with the financial impact of Colorado's
brutal winter coupled with a 7% decrease in kettle donations during the
holiday season.
Colonel Peacock of the Colorado Chapter of The Salvation Army
elaborates on what the money will be used for. "Denver Mattress has been a

Mattress donates helps all of our programs along the Front Range and
beyond, programs such as our Lambuth Family Shelter,
Crossroads Transitional Housing, after-school programs for the youngsters
of our communities and Emergency Disaster Services, whose focus is to help

Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army.
