alonovo.com Sponsoring the "People Before Profit" Film Series

(CSRwire) AUSTIN, TX - January 22, 2007 - alonovo.com is pleased to announce the "People Before Profit" nationwide house party series.

In order to help educate and build community alonovo.com is sponsoring the "People Before Profit" film series, beginning with the inaugural event on February 10. Starting with "The Corporation" we are planning a series of nationwide house parties, each of which will be followed by a 30 minute conference call with the filmmakers, authors and/or subject matter experts.

We are honored that Professor Joel Bakan, author of "The Corporation" and others will be joining us for the inaugural event.

"I am delighted that Professor Bakan will be joining us for the inaugural event on February 10. Joel's work has inspired critical elements of the alonovo.com experience and I have deep admiration for his courage, leadership and expertise in the social ramifications of the corporate entity. The film series is aligned with our mission, to help educate society about the transfer of power that is intrinsic to every one of our purchase transactions. What kind of corporation makes the products we buy, and what type of behavior do we perpetuate when we shop? Is the company treating their workers well, conserving resources and reducing their environmental impact? Or are purchases leading to sweatshop labor, polluted rivers, streams and ocean and clearcut forests? The consideration of Corporate Behavior, or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a factor in our consumer patterns will create evolutionary, positive change for ourselves, our families, neighborhoods, communities and our entire world." stated George Polisner, alonovo.com President.

Over the next several months, the alonovo.com house party film series mission is to help people understand how the pursuit of profit embodied by entities such as ExxonMobil, Wal*Mart, Halliburton, Enron, General Motors, Union Carbide Kimberly-Clark and others have, and continue to impact our lives, communities and the world. We will be presenting films from Hello Cool World, Brave New Films, MoneyTalks, Ashoka and others who offer compelling independent media that is edgy, inspirational, and all related to corporate behavior -the good, bad and ugly.

About alonovo.com:

Founded in summer 2005, alonovo.com is a mission-focused for-profit entity. The alonovo.com mission is to inform and educate marketforce demand (consumers, corporate and institutional procurement) about which corporations are externalizing costs to society versus those corporations that are evolving to balance people, planet and profit. We are the market leader in providing an integrated consumer experience where trusted corporate behavioral ratings inform an enormous array of consumer product such as electronics, computers, books, music, films, apparel, organics and fair trade goods. As we grow through our revenue sharing relationship with nearly 100 non-profit, cause-based organizations and achieve sufficient mass we will create more demand and product affinity for goods and services from highly regarded CSR-favored businesses. Such demand will create higher equity value for Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) portfolios, and attract more money and investors to the SRI space. By addressing capital from both the demand and investment side of the equation, the synergistic relationship will accelerate the corporate "race to the top" -----the transition to clean, renewable energy, fair labor relationships, and an equitable, sustainable and growing economy.
