Deloitte & Touche Named to FORTUNE’s '100 Best Companies to Work For' List for Eighth Year
(CSRwire) NEW YORK, NY January 9, 2007 – For the eighth year, Deloitte & Touche LLP
has been named to FORTUNE magazine’s list of “100 Best Companies to
Work For.” The 10th annual survey, which appears in the January 22nd
issue of FORTUNE and on www.fortune.com, is the national benchmark that
lists employers who consistently raise the bar on human resources programs
and corporate culture improvement for all employees.
"We're pleased to be recognized as one of the best places to work," said
Barry Salzberg, Managing Partner, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP. "We work
hard to provide our people with a challenging and supportive workplace,
and continue to adopt innovative ways to meet their needs."
Employee opinions factor heavily in FORTUNE’s decision, with two-thirds
of the organization’s score coming from surveyed employees.
“I’m extremely proud to have this recognition because it a reflection
of how our people experience life at Deloitte and tells us that we’re
focusing on the areas that are important to them,” said Paul T. Parker,
chief people officer, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP.
Deloitte continues to be a leader in work/life management, career and
leadership development, women’s advancement, diversity & inclusion and
community involvement. Among the human resources initiatives launched in
the past year:
A Coaching initiative to help achieve Deloitte’s goals of being a
“coached organization” where everyone has an opportunity to coach and
be coached.
A Diversity Mentoring Program which offers minority senior managers
and managers the chance to work with experienced professionals as mentors
who provide career advice and leadership development.
Mass Career Customization, an initiative that allows individuals to
advance at their own pace and design a good fit between their lives and
careers.
The FORTUNE list of “100 Best Companies to Work for in America” pays
tribute to the companies that excel in motivating employees and helping
them manage their personal and professional lives. FORTUNE also surveys
employees at each company, asking a variety of questions about
credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. Employee opinions
factored heavily in the decision process for the list, as two-thirds of
the company's score was weighted on responses from randomly selected
employees.
