(CSRwire) BURLINGTON, Vt.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 21, 2006--Seventh Generation,
the nation's leading marketer of environmentally responsible home cleaning
and personal care products, has named Carter Elenz as its new Vice
President of Sales and Resonance & Relevance, the latter being Seventh
Generation's innovative take on the Marketing function.
Mr. Elenz, who had been Senior Vice President of Sales for Stonyfield
Farms Inc., will be in charge of all sales activity, consumer and trade
marketing and product development. He will start in the new role January
15, reporting directly to the company's President and CEO, Jeffrey
Hollender.
"We are pleased to welcome Carter to the Seventh Generation team,"
said Hollender. "Carter's successful sales background and significant
management experience in the natural products environment is a tremendous
asset to Seventh Generation. In addition, his relationships with the trade
and leadership role for other values-led businesses give him the expertise
to build on our existing success and will play a vital role in our plans
for continued expansion."
"Following a record year of success in 2006, we experienced an
increase of over thirty percent growth in revenues on 2005," Hollender
continues. "The strategic hire of an executive vice president of sales and
marketing reflects our commitment to building an increasingly more
meaningful presence in the natural products arena. Carter provides us with
the ability to more aggressively capitalize on the growing demand for
eco-friendly cleaning and personal care products in the marketplace and
expand on our momentum."
While at Stonyfield, Elenz oversaw expansion of the company's sales
growth by almost 400% and profit growth by over 700%, expanding
distribution significantly while helping to reinforce the brand's
reputation for environmental responsibility.
Prior to his 6 1/2 years at Stonyfield, Carter was the VP of Sales at
Gardenburger, having started his career with ten years at Quaker Oats.
"Seventh Generation is a dynamic organization which is changing how
the consumer views earth-friendly, people-friendly products," said Carter
Elenz. "I am very excited to help bring the Company's new energy and
unique perspective to the marketplace."
Mr. Elenz has a BS in Business Administration from Valparaiso
University. He and his wife Lisa live in Long Beach, Indiana.
For 18 years, the closely held Burlington, Vermont company has been at
the forefront of a cultural change in consumer behavior and business
ethics. One of the nation's first self-declared "socially responsible"
companies, Seventh Generation is a business that operates according to a
new and different set of principles and values that in many ways are a
marked departure from those long considered "traditional." Its business
practice is focused on offering people avenues to express their idealism,
passion, and commitment to causes larger than themselves at every point
along its supply chain -- from suppliers and partners to shareholders,
customers and its own staff. The company derives its name from the Great
Law of the Iroquois that states, In our every deliberation, we must
consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations.
