BankInvest's Global Emerging Markets SRI fund has a two step investment process. First, a negative screening is applied to identify companies with unacceptable or controversial practices, either ruling them out of the investment process or underweighting them in the portfolio. Then, Innovest's Global Compact Screening toolkit is used to assess company strategy and performance as it relates to the ten principles of the United Nation's Global Compact. Using this screen, BankInvest can determine if companies in which they wish to invest are adhering and complying with generally accepted international norms and principles.
