Business for Social Responsibility Names Four New Board Members
(CSRwire) SAN FRANCISCO, CA- November 27, 2006 - Business for Social
Responsibility (BSR) is pleased to announce that four new Directors will
be joining its board of directors. The BSR Board has elected Diana
Bell, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Total Customer
Experience & Quality, Hewlett-Packard; Bob Corcoran, Vice President
and Chief Learning Officer, General Electric; Pamela Passman, Vice
President, Global Corporate Affairs, Microsoft; and Mark Tercek,
Managing Director and Director of Corporate Citizenship, Goldman Sachs, to
serve an initial three-year term as Directors.
In welcoming the four new members to the board, Mats Lederhausen, Chair of
BSR and Managing Director of McDonald's Ventures, said, "These highly
distinguished business leaders were selected because of their commitment
to responsible business success, and their unique insights into
integrating principles of sustainability into business strategies and
operations. I look forward to working with them as colleagues on the BSR
Board."
According to BSR President and CEO Aron Cramer, "The four new board
members will provide tremendous insight and support to BSR across a range
of critical industry areas where we operate and that have great impacts on
the practices of sustainable business in the world today. These senior
business leaders are helping their companies achieve sustainable success,
and I look forward to their contributions to BSR's ongoing support for
these same goals."
The four additions serve to replace directors that are rotating off the
BSR board following completion of their service. Departing directors
include: Mandy Cormack, formerly of Unilever; Roberta Karp of Liz
Claiborne; Roberto Murray of Cerveceria La Constancia, S.A. and Grupo
Agrisal; John Onoda of Fleishman Hillard; and Chris Tuppen of British
Telecommunications. "The critical contributions made by the departing
Directors have been central in the organization's successes over the past
few years. I am very grateful for their service," Lederhausen said.

advice and counsel to senior staff, and promotes the organization's

Diana Bell, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Total
Customer Experience & Quality, Hewlett-Packard
A 30-year veteran of HP, Bell has leadership responsibility for HP's
global citizenship across the company, including corporate social and
environmental responsibility, privacy and corporate philanthropy. Bell
also serves on the Advisory Board for the Center for Responsible Business
at the Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley.
Bob Corcoran, Vice President and Chief Learning Officer, General
Electric
Corcoran leads the John F. Welch Leadership Development Center in
Crotonville, NY, where he has global responsibility for training and
developing GE leaders. He is also President of the GE Foundation, where he
is responsible for GE's charitable activities supporting public education,
community building and disaster relief, and oversees volunteerism
throughout the company.
Pamela Passman, Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs,
Microsoft
A 10-year veteran of Microsoft, Passman oversees Microsoft's worldwide
Citizenship Initiative and leads the company's government and regulatory
affairs and public policy efforts. Her portfolio includes responsibilities
related to strengthening industry relations, developing partnerships with
governments, NGOs and international organizations, and advancing community
investment and outreach programs worldwide.
Mark Tercek, Managing Director and Director of Corporate
Citizenship, Goldman Sachs
Tercek joined Goldman Sachs in 1984 and became a partner in 1996. Prior to
that, he headed the firm's Consumer/Healthcare, Equity Capital Markets,
Corporate Finance and Real Estate Departments. He is also a trustee of the
Leader-to-Leader Institute and an adjunct professor of Finance at New York
University's Stern School of Business.
