Carbonfund.org and alonovo.com Announce Cooperative Relationship to Reduce Harmful Carbon Emissions
(CSRwire) (Silver Spring, Maryland and Austin, Texas) --Carbonfund.org and
alonovo.com are pleased to announce a cooperative relationship to reduce
carbon emissions and mitigate the serious, global impact of climate
change. The growing alonovo.com community is part of a larger movement of
educated, aware consumers that are already using corporate behavior as a
factor in product choice.
When community members shop using the alonovo.com portal, they are
evaluating product price, quality and, more importantly, which
corporations are treating their workforce well, reducing their
environmental impact and shifting to use clean, renewable energy sources.
Now when purchasing through the alonovo.com portal, the community can
offset carbon emissions by contributing to Carbonfund.org, the leading
non-profit carbon offset provider. On their behalf, Carbonfund.org will
support renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation projects
that offset their climate change impact. Furthermore, future releases of
the alonovo.com portal will include closer integration with Carbonfund.org
to provide offsets based on the shipping related to each transaction.
"I am very pleased to announce our relationship with Carbonfund.org and
enthusiastic about our future technical direction. Our growing community
is sensitive to the global impact of consumerism, and this relationship
will provide the ability to minimize the carbon footprint of our
purchases. It is vital that while we shift our purchases to companies that
are evolving toward a triple bottom line --people, planet and profit, that
we also consider our personal responsibility. By addressing both corporate
and individual responsibility we truly create a cooperative, sustainable
and growing free market economy" stated George Polisner, founder of
alonovo.com.
"We are excited to work with a progressive company like alonovo," said
Eric Carlson, Carbonfund.org's executive director. "alonovo's members are
committed to making the most responsible choices possible, and
Carbonfund.org is glad to give them the opportunity to take responsibility
for their carbon footprint. By bringing more and more people on board, we
can have a real and lasting impact on climate change."
