Day 2 of 2006 BSR Conference Begins in New York with Energy Expert, Author and Rocky Mountain Institute CEO Amory Lovins

(CSRwire) SAN FRANCISCO- The 2006 Business for Social Responsibility (BSR)
Conference continues into its second day Thursday, with a breakfast
plenary featuring Time Magazine's "Hero for the Planet" Amory Lovins,
author of Natural Capitalism: Creating the Next Industrial Revolution and
founder of the Rocky Mountain Institute.
Lovins' plenary will be followed by 15 breakout sessions throughout the
day, including "Governments as Agents of Change" (10:30 am), which
features the Swedish Ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility
Elisabeth Dahlin, and a Conversation with John Ruggie (3:00
pm), the UN Secretary General's Special Representative on Business and
Human Rights. The dynamic and inspiring Majora Carter, founder of
Sustainable South Bronx, delivers the afternoon plenary and will share her
experiences on solving urban problems and climate change through innovative
environmental strategies.
The BSR Annual Conference is the world's largest gathering of CSR
practitioners, attracting 1,200 people from more than 40 countries. In
previous years, speakers have included President Bill Clinton,
Madeleine Albright, Paul Wolfowitz (as President of the World Bank),
and former Prime Minister of Israel Shimon Peres.
