Bayer Honored Again as a Top Company for Working Mothers
Fourth Year on Working Mother Magazine's Top 100 List
(CSRwire) PITTSBURGH- Bayer Corporation has been recognized by Working Mother
magazine as one of 100 best companies across the nation for working
mothers. This selection marks the fourth time Bayer has appeared on the
annual list.
"To once again be named to the "Working Mother 100 Best" list is an
honor, especially since the standards of excellence rise each year," said
Dr. Attila Molnar, President and CEO of Bayer Corporation. "At Bayer, we
are committed to helping our employees achieve the necessary and vital
balance between their professional and personal lives."
To apply for the "Working Mother 100 Best," Bayer provided
Working Mother magazine with detailed information on nine areas of
work/life including: child-care, culture, flexibility, parental leave,
women's advancement, total compensation, work/life culture and
family-friendly programs. Bayer completed a 550-question application,
which checked the availability, tracking and usage of programs to support
working mothers, the accountability of managers to implement programs and
the successful advancement of women into top paying jobs, board positions
and management ranks. Bayer was also required to submit documentation of
programs and policies and results of employee surveys.
Bayer was honored for its family-friendly programs, best practices and
company culture and ranked high or above average in more than half of the
categories surveyed.
Dr. Molnar identified job sharing, child-care, telecommuting and flexible
schedules and a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program as some of the
work/life opportunities within Bayer that attract employees to the
company.
The Working Mother recognition is one of several from national or
local organizations that Bayer has received, including the prestigious
Catalyst Award for leadership in establishing innovative programs to
prepare women and people of color with the critical skills necessary to
advance to senior positions.
The complete list of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" appears
in the October issue of Working Mother -- available on newsstands
September 25, and currently available on the magazine's Web site, http://www.workingmother.com.
