Several Noted Philanthropy Professionals to Address Top Executives, Employees
(CSRwire) ING, a global financial services leader, is hosting the ING Corporate
Citizenship Summit, September, 6-7 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York.
The Summit will bring together senior leaders at ING with employees from
around the country that implement community relations programs to discuss
the importance of corporate social responsibility, the value of corporate
community service and the impact of philanthropy on business.
Several respected community and economic development professionals will
address the senior executives and employees, including:
The Honorable James Harmon, chairman of Harmon & Co., and chairman of
World Resources Institute;
Marguerite Kondracke, president and CEO, America's Promise; and
Steve Rochlin, of the Boston College School of Corporate Citizenship
"At ING we have a strong commitment to making a difference in the
communities in which we live and work," said Rhonda Mims, President, ING
Foundation. "It's important to bring together ING's leadership with those
employees that implement our initiatives across the country to recognize
their efforts, but also to strengthen and focus our strategy around
investing and volunteering in our communities."
"It's an honor to be speaking to a corporation dedicated to social
responsibility," said Marguerite Kondracke, president and CEO of America's
Promise. "Businesses like ING are at the heart of community progress,
always helping to ensure a better quality of life for families. They are
often the most innovative leaders at the forefront of America's response
to critical challenges."
The summit aims to reinforce the company's commitment to corporate social
responsibility, the value of corporate community service and the impact of
philanthropy on business. "We are looking forward to hearing from the
leaders of other organizations who will share their community initiatives
and insights with us," said Mims.
Also during the summit, the company will hold an awards ceremony to
recognize ING employees that have provided and produced exemplary
community service programs in their home cities.
In 2005, ING US employees donated more than 27,000 volunteer hours to
various community initiatives.
