eco 6 Attracts New Sponsors and Offers Delegates a Way to Neutralise Carbon Emissions
London - economie, the international organisation dedicated to the
education, promotion and development of Socially Responsible Investment
(SRI) worldwide, today announced a variety of updates to its conference,
eco6. eco6 is economie's flagship annual conference aimed at raising
global awareness and transform attitudes towards the fast growing economic
movements of SRI and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
economie is offering delegates at eco6 the opportunity to offset their
travel carbon emissions using a service from Noveris, a new company
providing environmentally aware individuals and organisations the
opportunity to carbon neutralise their activities (car use, air travel and
life style).
The carbon credits used to carbon neutralise clients activities are those
generated by the Floresteca plantations in which QUADRIS Environmental
Investments invests on behalf of its shareholders. These credits differ
from the credits offered by other providers of this service, in that they
are Verified Emission Reductions that have been verified by the German
quality assurance agency TÜV in accordance with GHG 031 of the Kyoto
Protocol.
In further news, economie has announced that it has brought on board a new
sponsor to eco6, The Orange Sense Funds.
The Orange Sense Funds are specialised investment funds are with a clear
goal: to deliver results above the benchmark. Demanding professional
investors, such as pension funds and insurers, invest large amounts of
money in the Orange funds. As most of the Orange funds are listed on the
stock exchange, private investors can also benefit from specialist
knowledge.
economie has also announced that it has teamed with the Swiss book seller
Orell Füssli to offer eco6 delegates a wide range of books on SRI, CSR
and related topics. Orell Füssli will have its own book shop set up
within the eco6 exhibition space. Many of the books on offer will be
authored by the speakers at eco6, so delegates may even have the chance to
meet the author in person in Zurich.
economie has also announced that Kuno Spirig will be leading the eco6
breakout session: Auf Deutsch. Kuno Spirig is the managing director of
Valde GmbH. He has a long career in consulting, project management and
research activities in sustainability.
There are still several exhibition and sponsorship opportunities for
companies who wish to profile their products and services to the
international attendees, via the economie website. For further
information, Gwyn Jones can be contacted on +41 44 586 7324 or gwyn@economie.co.uk.
