(CSRwire) Lloyds TSB has received an award for the project it presented in co-operation with the Centre for Sustainability & Excellence (CSE) during the Annual European Marketplace, organised by CSR Europe on June 22nd, 2006. The award was given in the category Leadership and Governance, which boasted over 200 projects, presented by dozens of multinational companies.

The event, which was attended by over 400 executives from European companies, was held in Brussels and was addressed by the Chairman of CSR Europe, Etienne Davignon and the Vice-Chairman of the EU for Business and Industry, G.Verheugen.

The outcome of the 2 year co-operation was presented by N. Avlonas, Executive Director of the Center for Sustainability & Excellence (CSE) and J. Swannick, CSR Director of Lloyds TSB. The innovative project included the measurement of CSR activities and their incorporation into the Strategy and policy of the organization. In addition the project involved the publication of an innovative Annual Report.

It's worth noting that Lloyds TSB, one of the major European banks, based in London, with over 75,000 employees, has been using the services of CSE for the creation of an integrated CSR strategy, since 2004 and has already presented the outcome of the specific project in many conferences all over the world.
