Michael Oxman and Terry Nelidov Join Business for Social Responsibility's Extractives Team
(CSRwire) Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) is pleased to announce that
Michael Oxman has been appointed Director of BSR's Oil and Gas Advisory
Services team. Oxman comes to BSR from Chevron where he had responsibility
for coordinating large-scale investment approvals for the Eurasia Business
Unit, conducting extensive planning and financial analysis activities
while a resident in Kazakhstan, and facilitating "above ground" risk
workshops for international upstream business units. Prior to joining
Chevron (Texaco) in 1998, Oxman worked for Price Waterhouse in the
provision of consulting services to the Republic of Kazakhstan for various
oil and gas projects. He also worked for the U.S. Overseas Private
Investment Corporation (OPIC), where he provided political risk insurance
to U.S. companies investing in international projects. Oxman holds an
undergraduate degree in Russian Area studies from Trinity College and
masters degrees in international affairs (MIA) and business (MBA) from
Columbia University and Rice University, respectively.
BSR would also like to announce that Terry Nelidov has joined BSR as a
Manager with the Extractives Program, with a focus on mining in Latin
America. Nelidov has spent much of the last 17 years working in business
and development in Latin America. Prior to BSR, he was Country
Representative for Catholic Relief Services in Peru (the overseas
development agency of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops), where he
worked on a variety of development issues, including CSR and mining.
Nelidov's time in Latin America began with Peace Corps Paraguay and went
on to include work at the graduate school of business INCAE in Costa Rica,
facilitating start-up of the land development company Americasas in El
Salvador, as well as consulting assignments in Ecuador, Honduras and
Dominican Republic. He has an undergraduate degree in Industrial
Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from IESE in Barcelona.
