Audubon New York Partners with Heller Communication Design
Partnership Focuses on Bridging Gap between Private and Nonprofit Sectors
(CSRwire) NEW YORK - Audubon New York, the State program of the National
Audubon Society, and New York-based Heller Communication Design (HCD)
today announced the formation of a partnership to develop specific CSR
programs and concepts that will help to bridge the gap between nonprofit
organizations and corporations across New York. Companies to be targeted
are those who are already invested in CSR programs, as well as those who
have indicated an interest, but who have not yet committed to any one
specific cause.
HCD, which recently redesigned its corporate mission to play a more
significant role in sustainable communications programs, views the
partnership as an excellent opportunity to help fulfill their vision.
"Partnering with Audubon New York is an important step in realizing the
goals we have set for our own business," says Heller Communication Design
principal Cheryl Heller. "We are committed to teaching corporations how
they can play a leading role in alleviating the social and environmental
issues facing the world in a way that is both easy and profitable for
them."
"When Cheryl Heller first approached us with the concept of developing
programs that not only would be specifically designed for individual
corporations, but that would include the branding and advertising
campaigns, as well as collateral production, we were blown away," says
Thomas O'Handley, Audubon New York's Director of Development. "The
opportunity to collaborate with a communications company that is as
dedicated to putting people back in touch with nature and sustainability
as is HCD was one we could not pass up. We're very excited about this
partnership."
HCD has long been involved in bringing the private and nonprofit sectors
together for mutually beneficial relationships and works with many
nonprofit organizations, including World Wildlife Fund and Architecture
for Humanity. They were responsible for rebranding The Cloud Institute
for Sustainability Education and are currently engaged with International
Development Enterprises (IDE). Additionally, Heller led the team that
breathed new life into the Girls Scouts brand.
